Introduction to Soft Limestone Carving
About this workshop
In this full-day introductory workshop, you will learn the basics of soft limestone sculpting with sculptor Kim Bellette.
South Eastern Limestone is a material that can be easily shaped and cut with a mallet and chisel and simple woodworking tools. You will learn the strengths and weaknesses of the material, and how to conceptualise and execute a design that will bring out the unique features of the stone.
At the end of the day, you will have created a personal piece of art to take home with you.
