JASON SAYS:

Jason Penfold is an Entomologist with a background in fine art. His love for the wonders of natural history was nurtured through a family passion for Lapidary. He has fond memories of foraging for semi-precious stones with his grandma in his hometown of county New South Wales.

WE SAY:
Jason is self-taught in the art of preserving and pinning butterflies, moths and arachnids. His art practice marries his loves of Lapidary and Entomology into small scale sculptures. Jason has worked on projects for museums across Australia and the USA as well as private collectors. He has taught entomology in Australia and Internationally. Jason makes and sells his art and runs workshops through his own studio and store, Violet Eyes Entomology.
