Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and to all of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who live and work on Wadawurrung Country. We acknowledge their unceded sovereignty over Wadawurrung Country, and the ongoing hardship and trauma as a result of colonisation. The history and continuous culture of the Wadawurrung people is an important part of our shared story.

Traditional, sustainable, respectful.
ABOUT : Stephen Ferguson is a traditional upholsterer who learnt the craft from his father and has operated his own upholstery business for the last 48 years. He specialises in recreating the original beauty of a piece using the same tools, materials and techniques that have been used for over a century.
WE SAY: Stephen is passionate about his craft and the beauty and integrity of old pieces of upholstered furniture. He passes on his knowledge and skills to keep his rare trade alive and keep beautiful furniture out of landfill.
