Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. About this workshop 
Embark on an exciting journey into the ancient art of cuttlefish casting with Rachel Grose.
In this full-day workshop, you will learn to harness the natural beauty and texture of the cuttlefish bone in a silversmithing technique that has been used for centuries. You will carve and shape the cuttlefish bone to make a mould and pour molten silver into it to take on the shape and unique properties of the material. At the end of the day, you will have made a one-of-a-kind piece of sterling silver jewellery.

Snacks, lunch, water bottle, notepad and pen

Workshop appropriate - closed toe shoes, no hanging jewellery, hair tied back

Small class size – max 8 participants

All instruction, tools and materials included

In this workshop, you will learn to cast silver using cuttlefish.

A lunch break and morning tea break are included with morning tea provided
