Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. We acknowledge their unceded sovereignty over Wadawurrung Country, and the ongoing hardship and trauma as a result of colonisation. The history and continuous culture of the Wadawurrung people is an important part of our shared story.

About this workshop
Learn the art of lacemaking with Lindy de Wijn from the Victorian Branch of the Australian Lace Guild. 
 In this full-day workshop, you will discover a variety of bobbin lace techniques and learn about the history of the practice. You will complete a sampler inspired by a Chinese Processional Costume from the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections.
At the end of the workshop, you will take your finished work and newfound knowledge and skills home with you.

Snacks, lunch, water bottle, notepad and pen.

Comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes

Small class size – 8 participants max

All instruction, tools and materials included.

You will learn a variety of needle lace techniques and learn about the history of this practice.

A morning tea and lunch break are included with morning tea provided.
