Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. We acknowledge their unceded sovereignty over Wadawurrung Country, and the ongoing hardship and trauma as a result of colonisation. The history and continuous culture of the Wadawurrung people is an important part of our shared story.

About this workshopIn this full day workshop you will learn the fundamentals of woodworking using traditional hand tools and 19th century joinery techniques.This is the perfect introduction to the world of wood and gateway to appreciating its properties, movement, grain direction, and stock selection.You will learn the basics by making a toolbox, and at the end of the day not only take home your handcrafted piece, but the skills, knowledge and confidence to embark on future projects.

Workshop appropriate - comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.

Small class size – max 6 participants

All instruction and materials included.

Learn the features and use of a range of traditional wood working hand tools and 19th Century joinery techniques.

Breaks occur at morning tea and lunch. Morning tea provided. Lunch available for pre-ordering.
