Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. About this workshopExplore the basics of tapestry weaving with master artisan Tim Gresham.Learn the techniques of warping a wooden loom and the interlacing yarns and colours that are the foundation of traditional tapestry weaving.At the end of the day take home your woven tapestry piece along with a specially-made wooden loom and bobbin created by the Sovereign Hill Wheelwrights and Coach Builders, as well as a tapestry weaving resource kit.

Snacks, lunch, water bottle, notepad and pen

Comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes.

Small class size – max 8 participants

All instruction, tools and materials provided

You will learn to warp a frame tapestry loom and weave a sample. If you have not finished your piece by the end of the session, you will have the skills necessary to complete it at home.

A lunch break and morning tea break are included with morning tea provided.
