Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. About this workshop
Learn the art of lacemaking with Lindy de Wijn and Helen Crabb from the Victorian Branch of the Australian Lace Guild.In this 2-day workshop, you will learn to make both bobbin lace and needle lace by spending a full day working in each technique. You will complete a sampler in each technique inspired by a Chinese Processional Costume from the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections which you will have the opportunity to view during the workshop. At the end of the workshop, you will take your finished work and newfound knowledge and skills home with you.

Snacks, lunch, water bottle, notepad and pen.

Comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes.

Small class size – max 12 participants

All instruction, tools and materials included

You will learn a variety of needle lace and bobbin lace techniques and learn about the history of this practice.

A lunch break and morning tea break are included with morning tea provided
