Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. About this workshop
Learn to create colour using natural dyes with Churchill Fellow, Heather Thomas!
In this full day workshop, you will learn to colour wool using natural plant dyes that can be found in your own backyard.
You will create a colour sampler of wool felt. Heather will also demonstrate how to dye wool fleece before providing you opportunity to dye your own skein of wool yarn.
At the end of the workshop, you will be able to take your sampler and yarn home with you.

Snacks, lunch, water bottle, notepad and pen

Comfortable clothes which can afford to get a little bit dirty and closed-toed shoes.

Small class size – max 8 participants

All instruction, tools and materials included.

Through the experience of preparing, mordanting and dyeing wool you will gain an understanding of the process of using natural dyes.

A lunch break and morning tea break are included with morning tea provided.

Natural Dye Colour Rainbow: Wool
