About this workshop
Learn the art of embroidery with award-winning artist, Alison Cole.
In this workshop, you will be working on an embroidery design taken directly from a Chinese cloth in the collection of the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections.
You will transfer the design and then embroider using straight stitch, double running stitch, satin stitch and French knots. We will be working in perle cotton on cotton sateen fabric.
This project is perfect for those wanting to learn hand embroidery for the first time or for those wishing to refresh their memory of basic stitches.

Small class size – 8 participants max
What is Included
All instruction, tools and materials included. The kit includes cotton sateen fabric, perle cotton thread, needles, instructions, embroidery hoop.
You will learn
You will learn how to prepare fabric in a hoop and transfer the design ready to embroider four basic embroidery stitches: straight stitch, double running stitch, satin stitch and French knots
