Introduction to Indigo
About this workshop
Immerse yourself in the world of indigo with natural dyer Jude Craig.
In this full-day workshop, you will learn about the origins of this ancient dye and spend time with the vat creating a range of blue hues.
Jude will guide you through creating colour samples and experimenting with resist techniques.
At the end of the workshop, you will have a beautiful silk scarf to wear home, dyed with your own hands.

Snacks, lunch, water bottle, notepad and pen.
Clothing guidelines
Comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting stained. Closed-toed shoes. Apron recommended.

At the end of this workshop, you will have gained basic knowledge of the history and value of indigo dye and have a good understanding of the alchemy of indigo dyeing and how to coax colour from the plant.
