Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. About this workshop
Learn the ancient technique of sand casting with armourer, Sam Bloomfield!In this half-day workshop, you will learn to cast molten metal into an object using a mould made from sand. You will work in a small group with a maximum of 6 participants. For this project, you will use bronze to create a Bronze Age-inspired pendant. You will add a wire ring and leather thong to make a necklace. At the end of the workshop, you will take a unique piece of jewellery home to add to your collection.

No previous experience required

Snacks, lunch, water bottle, notepad and pen.

Workshop appropriate - closed toe shoes, hair tied back, no hanging jewellery, no baggy or flowing clothing.

Small class size – max 6 participants

All instruction, tools and materials included

You will learn to cast molten metal into an object using a mould made from sand.
