Lola! Create a Showgirl Headpiece Inspired by Lola Montez
About this workshop
Lola Montez was the infamous celebrity imposter who beguiled Ballarat and surrounds with her alluring ‘Spider Dance’.
In this full-day workshop, you will learn traditional millinery techniques including manipulating wire to form a tiara style headpiece which you will embellish with beads, jewels, diamantes, braids, and feathers.
Bring your own op shop finds like earrings, necklaces, brooches, and bracelets to break up and add to your creation. Remember, this is stage headwear for performance so fake diamonds, glittery stones, and shiny braids will be perfect.
At the end of the day, you will be able to show off your new accessory inspired by the inimitable Lola Montez.
